Coming 2026 · A book by Dr. Jeff Bullock, PharmD

You were never taught how to be smart. You were taught how to be graded.

The Intelligence Loop is the equation for why capable people get stuck, and the weekly practice that gets them moving again. Intelligence is not a score. It is a loop you run.

The Intelligence Loop book cover by Dr. Jeff Bullock, PharmD I = M × C × U × T
The problem

You have the degrees, the title, the track record. And a quiet fear that none of it would transfer if the game changed.

The author spent eighteen years at CVS, clerk to district leader. He knew the system cold. Then he sat in a parking lot one Tuesday and asked the question he had been running from: if this place disappeared tomorrow, what do I actually know how to do?

The honest answer was, not enough. He had mistaken depth in one system for intelligence. He had confused expertise with adaptability.

He wasn't smart. He was memorized. There is a difference, and it took him eighteen years to see it. Now AI is forcing everyone to see it, fast. AI is not replacing intelligence. It is revealing who actually has it.

The idea

Intelligence is four things that multiply, not add.

I = M × C × U × T

Intelligence equals Model Quality times Courageous Action times Update Efficiency times Transfer Power.

Multiplication, not addition.

Add the parts and a strength covers for a weakness. Multiply them and a single weak variable drags the whole product down.

One zero collapses everything.

The best model in the world, times a courage of zero, is still zero. Being stuck is rarely a shortage of talent. It is one variable sitting near the floor.

Being stuck is a math problem. Find the one variable at zero and move that one thing first.

The four variables

Each one gets a chapter. Each one, you can build.

M

Model Quality

How well you understand how the world actually works. Ten connected insights beat a thousand disconnected facts.

C

Courageous Action

Acting when the outcome is uncertain. The bridge between knowing and doing. The variable that stops most people.

U

Update Efficiency

How honestly and how fast you change your thinking when reality pushes back. The step where ego dies or intelligence does.

T

Transfer Power

Carrying a lesson from one domain into a different one. The most underleveraged variable in human intelligence.

The practice

The equation lives on paper. The loop runs in your week.

Step 1

See it

Notice a pattern. Build a model of how something works. This is Model Quality.

Step 2

Try it

Test the model in real life. Act before you are certain. This is where courage lives.

Step 3

Feel it

Get the feedback. Reality pushes back, sometimes hard. Do not look away.

Step 4

Fix it

Update your thinking honestly. Change what the evidence tells you to change.

Step 5

Move it

Carry the lesson somewhere new. Different project, relationship, industry. This is transfer.

Then it starts again. See it, try it, feel it, fix it, move it. Run it, and you get smarter every week. Stop, and your models go stale.

Free diagnostic

Where is your zero?

Rate yourself one to ten on each variable, honestly, based on the last twelve months. The tool multiplies them and shows you the one holding everything else back. Because it is multiplication, your lowest variable has the most leverage.

Model Quality How connected is your understanding?
5
Courageous Action How often do you act under real uncertainty?
5
Update Efficiency How fast do you change your mind when wrong?
5
Transfer Power How many domains do your lessons travel across?

What is inside

Four parts. One operating system for getting smarter.

Part I

The foundation

Why everything you were told about intelligence is wrong, the loop you were born running, and the equation in full.

Part II

The four variables

M, C, U, and T taken apart one at a time. What each means, why it matters, and the exercises that build it.

Part III

Compounding and decay

The Flywheel, where the variables feed each other, and the Decay Principle, where an unused loop atrophies like an unused muscle.

Part IV

The AI reveal

Why AI can match you on models and updating but never on courage, and the two paths: cognitive offloading versus hyper-learning.

The honest part

The Limits of the Loop

A straight chapter on what the equation is not. A diagnostic heuristic, not a measurement. Far transfer is real and contested, and the book says so.

The plan

Your Monday morning

Score yourself, pick your lowest variable, run one loop this week, track it, repeat. A plan you can start before breakfast.

In the tradition of Range by David Epstein, Mindset by Carol Dweck, Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull, Antifragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, and Atomic Habits by James Clear.

The author

Dr. Jeff Bullock, PharmD

Dr. Jeff Bullock, PharmD

Jeff earned a PharmD at Xavier University of Louisiana and spent eighteen years at CVS, rising from clerk to district leader. Then he left, failed at two businesses, and rebuilt from the ground up. In June 2023 he founded PRISM AI Consultants, where he now coaches business owners and leaders using the same equation this book lays out.

He wrote The Intelligence Loop because he lived both sides of it. The memorizer who froze under pressure, and the person who learned to run the loop and stopped stopping. It is the anchor of a framework family that includes Far Transfer and the A2 System.

Questions

Before it launches.

Is this just another mindset book?

No. A mindset book tells you to believe in yourself. This book hands you a diagnostic. It turns being stuck into a math problem you can solve: score four variables, find the one near zero, and move that one first. The whole thing is built to be run, not just read.

Is the equation real science?

The book is honest about this, and there is a full chapter on it. I = M x C x U x T is a diagnostic heuristic, a structured way to ask four good questions about why you are stuck. It is not a lab measurement, and the science on far transfer is genuinely contested. A model does not have to be proven to be useful. A map is wrong in a hundred ways and still gets you home.

What does this have to do with AI?

Everything, right now. AI can match or beat humans at building models and updating them. What it cannot do is take courageous action with real stakes. That makes courage and lived transfer the new premium. The book shows you how to use AI to accelerate your loop instead of letting it quietly replace your thinking.

When does it come out, and can I start now?

The book launches in 2026. Reserve your copy and you get Chapter 1 free today, the first protocol for your lowest variable, and the exact launch day. You can run the Monday morning loop this week without waiting for the book.

How does this connect to Far Transfer and the A2 System?

The Intelligence Loop is the anchor. It gives you the full operating system. Far Transfer goes deep on the T variable, the six-domain architecture behind carrying lessons across fields. The A2 System is part of the same Human Capability System research. Read the loop first, then go deeper wherever your bottleneck is.

Monday morning

The parking lot is not where intelligence dies. It is where the loop begins.

You aren't as smart as you think you are, and you are far more capable than you believe. Both are true. The difference is whether you run the loop.
